Mount Takao is located in Tama district of Tokyo, within an hour of downtown Tokyo. It is very popular hiking spot for various people, including beginners, foreigners and young girls (“Yama-Girl”). There is eight hiking courses. Half way up the mountain, there stands Yakuoin Temple. Mount Takao is also a mountain of worship. You can choose cable car to climb to the half way, Takaosan Station.
